O serpent\u00e1rio \u00e9 uma das mais antigas instala\u00e7\u00f5es em funcionamento no Instituto Butantan<\/strong>. Ele come\u00e7ou a ser constru\u00eddo praticamente ao mesmo tempo em que o lend\u00e1rio Edif\u00edcio Central, inaugurado em 1914.\u00a0Al\u00e9m de ser uma atra\u00e7\u00e3o para o p\u00fablico visitante, no passado o Serpent\u00e1rio do Butantan<\/a><\/strong> era utilizado para realizar as extra\u00e7\u00f5es dos venenos utilizados na produ\u00e7\u00e3o de soro. Ap\u00f3s uma readequa\u00e7\u00e3o do local, os animais passaram a ser condicionados em salas climatizadas, enquanto a \u00e1rea do serpent\u00e1rio foi reformulada para simular o ambiente natural das esp\u00e9cies.<\/p>\n

Atividades no serpent\u00e1rio<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

O Instituto Butantan<\/a><\/strong> tamb\u00e9m promove uma programa\u00e7\u00e3o educativa no serpent\u00e1rio. Todas as quintas-feiras, das 14h30 \u00e0s 15h30, os visitantes podem participar da atividade \u201cM\u00e3o na Cobra s\u00f3 no Butantan\u201d. Nesta atra\u00e7\u00e3o os monitores do Butantan estimulam o contato do p\u00fablico com serpentes da fauna brasileira, tiram d\u00favidas sobre os animais e explicam o que deve ser feito em caso de acidentes.<\/p>\n

Aviso:\u00a0a\u00a0atividade \u201cM\u00e3o na Cobra s\u00f3 no Butantan\u201d n\u00e3o acontece em feriados e em dias chuvosos.<\/p>\n
